The Bookshelf. 'Hello, I'm Joe! Welcome to The Bookshelf. It's a short introduction I know, so perhaps I should expand a little. I'm a retired engineer! There now, isn't that better? I'm now a Writer, an Author and a Poet, having published my Autobiography and a book of my Poetry. Please, pretty please, I hope that you may excuse my language, when I tell you that I'm also a Blogger? The Bookshelf has been dusted down, polished, and is looking sparkling, awaiting the arrival of your treasured Manuscript which I hope you may send me. As the Proofreader/Copy/Editor, I will endeavour to dust the cobwebs from your text, put a polish on your paragraphs, and have your work shining as never before, suitable for presentation to a Printer or Publisher, whichever you may have as your intentions. Whether you want to give to friends and family, or you are seeking the Booker Prize. 'The Bookshelf' is unique, in that, by being the sole propietor, I am able to guarantee complete confidentiality and personal attention to the Author's work.
'What will you bring to the task in hand?' you may ask; Patience; A patient man’s a priceless pearl A proper prince among the paupers Slow to ponder time to dwell A fragrant meadow for green grasshoppers
Honesty;
An honest man’s a breath of new mown hay Stacked up snugly in the farmer’s harvest Eagerly awaiting the trials of the day Confidently knowing which policy is best
My dedication to the Author's work, with confidentiality, respect and protection of his/her copyrights, to the complete satisfaction of the Author. I prefer to communicate online as my 'zimmer frame' doesn't take too kindly to the traffic on the motorways.
Snowed under by rejection slips Scratching head in wonder Hop atop my snow machine We'll blast the lot asunder
I do like a challenge, I can proofread your manuscript, factual or ficticious. I have to call a halt at medical, technical and academical subjects, as I am neither a Doctor, a Lawyer, nor an Indian Chief, although I do see smoke rings in the sky at times, don't we all?
Tumbleweed
Abandon all those earthly roots temptation of forbidden fruits Set your burden baggage free kick your heels and follow me Live a life of peaceful ease bowling along on a Kansas breeze Like dandelion seeds on high kiss your apron strings goodbye
Lay to rest your twiddling thumbs feel the beating of the drums Hear the tales of proud Arapahoe following trails of wild buffalo Bouncing along gathering speed singing a song broadcasting seed Like dandelion seeds on high kiss your apron strings goodbye
Leave behind the sparking logs come barking with the prairie dogs Roll across wide desert plains Apache arrows and wagon trains Bounding picking up a pace we runners in the tumbleweed chase Like dandelion seeds on high kiss your apron strings goodbye
Not for you an empty sack a stumbling bumbling jumping jack Look there toward the far horizon see the smoke rings are arising Drifting from the Pawnee nation a pipe of peace our destination Like dandelion seeds on high kiss your apron strings goodbye
Be with me as sun is setting see the young buck with the netting Catching driftwood for the fire this will be our funeral pyre Our seeds are scattered on the plain the journey starts all over again Like dandelion seeds on high kiss your apron strings goodbye
Joe Sharp.
If you would like to send me a few sample pages of your script, and whether it is fiction or non-fiction, with a short description of what you hope to achieve. I will return the proofread/edited sample to you for your scrutiny. If you may wish to continue with the project. I am ready to devote my time and expertise to the development and completion of the manuscript to your total satisfaction.
A lovely day, a tranquil bay at Rowardennan, Loch Lomond.
